Each summer for the past 27 years, the Voitures Anciennes du Quebec classic-car club raids the Chambly fort near the Richelieu River. Classic-car fans from Quebec and the eastern coast of the United States get together during a weekend for friendly discussions and parading around in their vintage cars.
First of all, it’s worth mentioning a few details about the festival. The participating vehicles must be at least 25 years old, and they’ll be parked according to their country of origin. For example, the German cars will be separated from the British and American ones. Each year, more than 500 vehicles are on display and more than 100 winners of the Concours d’Elegance are crowned.
During the last few years, we had the opportunity to check out some finely restored vehicles. This time around, Cadillac vehicles will be honoured under the big tent. In addition, there will be a section reserved for vintage motorcycles. The 2018 edition of this event will be chaired by Jacques Duval and hosted by Bertrand Godin. Show-goers will also be able to sell or purchase vintage items through an auction.
Moreover, music will also be part of the festivities on the BOOM show stage, as Maxime Landry will be performing on Saturday, July 14 at 1:30 p.m., while Rick Hughes and his musicians will perform on Sunday, July 15 at 1:30 p.m.
Aside from the classic cars, children will be able to have fun in the inflatable games and the make-up workshops, while listening to music artists. The Chambly classic-car Concours d’Elegance festivities will be held on July 14 and 15.
The Voitures Anciennes du Québec classic-car club has 2200 members from all around Quebec and elsewhere in the world. This year’s show is guaranteed to be a success!
